2009 Davis Cup, Fed Cup schedule out

LONDON (AP) -- The International Tennis Federation released the dates of next year's Davis Cup and Fed Cup on Monday.
The Davis Cup final will be played over the first weekend of December 2009.
The Davis Cup will open from March 6-8, with the quarterfinals to be played July 10-12 and the semifinals from Sept. 18-20. The final will be Dec. 4-6.
The Fed Cup begins Feb. 7-8, with the semifinals on April 25-26. The final of the women's competition will be staged Nov. 7-8.
"The 2009 calendar as it stands sees Davis Cup and Fed Cup rounds spread evenly throughout the year,'' ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti said.
The draw for the 2009 Davis Cup will be Sept. 23 in Madrid, Spain.
The 2008 Davis Cup final will be played Nov. 21-23, with the semifinals set for Sept. 19-21. The Fed Cup final is scheduled for Sept. 13-14.
